Divine v. Edith Massey: The Eternal Battle
Just mentioning Divine made me want to see some. I answered this procrastination development with this clip outta Female Trouble. Divine is Dawn Davenport, a cat burglar turned model and Massey is Aunt Ida, her step mother. This is what happens right before Dawn's hubby Gator leaves for Detroit to find a job in the "automobile industry" (spoken in Watersian Baltimorese, the phrase "automobile industry" is infinitely hilarious).
Delphine Seyrig could beat up your Dracula
Daughters of Darkness (1971) is still my favorite vampire movie. (Second is a tie between Herzog's Nosferatu and Morrissey's Blood For Dracula - see earlier post).
But seriously: Daughters of Darkness is right on. It has blond mind control, awesome dresses, big empty hotels, capes, car chases, and unresolved plot anomalies that rule.
However, the most perfect vampire movie would be a remake of Daughters of Darkness directed by John Waters and starring Divine as the Countess. Just think about it. Obviously.
RIP John Martyn
You should know two things. 1. JM been gone a month, and it is still a bummer. 2. This is not a Clapton song.
Nick Lowe's Wedding Footage
It seems someone just posted this super high-qual Lowe vid. I couldn't help myself. You might puke a little bit cuz it's so damn sweetie but its worth it.
